International Conference
“Legal Adjustment of Climate Change”
Date: 24-26 April 2009 (26 April - optional, - social programme in Lviv – highly recommended to stay!!!=)
Location: Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Lviv, Ukraine
Working languages: English, Ukrainian and Russian.
Aim: To involve students and young lawyers in discussion of current international ecological law problems in particular legal adjusting of climate change, and also legal measures on overcoming of consequences of climate change.
Brief description of the event: The conference implies participants’ speeches, their discussions, debates with participation of prominent experts in the sphere of international ecological law. Specialists from leading universities, ecological organisations, and different firms are invited to participate in the conference.
The conference will be held in 2 sections: I section - general theoretic questions will be discussed; II section – legal analysis of overcoming of consequences of climate change.
Recommended list of reports for participants: Section I: 1) International aspects of climate change. 2) Reasons and consequences of climate change 3) International legal principles of fight against climate change 4) Features of fight against climate change 5) Features of using the world experience by Ukraine in fight against the climate change. Section II: 1) Organizational principles and national legal frameworks of usage international legal duties in the field of climate change by Ukraine. 2) Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer 3) The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 4) International legal adjustment of the troop landings of hotbed gases. 5) Participating of Ukraine in a fight against the global climate change
It is possible to choose your own topic of the report in the context of the subject of the international conference. Contest for the best report will take place during the conference. Report of the winner will be published in a specialized law journal! All the participants will be awarded with certificates and collected reports in the end of the conference.

The Organizational Committee will select participants of the conference depending on the scientific value of theses. Guidelines for theses design: • text - Microsoft Word for Windows; *doc; • margins: top 15, bottom 15, left 20, right 15 mm; • type – Times New Roman 14; • line spacing − 1,5; • theses should not exceed 3 pages А4 including endnotes; • theses shall include title, name and affiliation (university) of author; • name of the file should contain the surname of it’s author in English.
Participation fee: ELSA Members from favoured countries 26 Euro per day ELSA Members from non-favoured countries: 30 Euro per day Non-ELSA Member: 35 Euro per day Non-Student: 35 Euro per day Participation fee covers accommodation (two nights in hotel), catering (3 x breakfast, 3 x lunch, 2 x dinner, working materials) and great social program. Participants are responsible for their transfer to Lviv and visa costs (if needed).
